Festival Fashion

It is coming, soon to be festival season. Although it might not feel like it with the outrageous weather we are getting, lets just hope that come summer we will actually get hot weather. I have been reminiscing on last years V Festival recently, it really was a blast. While I was there we had a heat wave so unlike true festival fashion it was too hot to even wear wellies! I love this season because of the music, the weather but also because of the fashion. Its only acceptable to wear tiny denim hot pants with wellies at a festival and you can get as muddy and smelly as you like without it being frowned upon. Whats better than sitting around camp listening to your favourite bands with your bestest friends? This year I plan on going to Bestival in the Isle of White. I want to go all out on the fancy dress theme, which is nautical. I'll combine my stripes and navy colours together and I may even find something wacky for the last day. I am really excited for this summer, what festivals do you plan on going to? Here are a few picture of last years V Festival, enjoy :)

In these picture I wore, Topshop pink skirt and denim bralet with Vans. My friend wore denim dungarees ( which are making theyre way back this summer) and a pink boob tube. I have also included a picture of Ben Howard as this was the highlight of my summer.

London fashion week street style

Here are my images that I took yesterday at LFW. It was an amazing day, the sun was shining and everyone was wearing diverse styles. I've never been to London fashion week before so it was definitely a new and exciting experience for me. I need to get out into the fashion world more often cos I had loads of fun and met some crazy people. I took these street style photos to be featured in our fashion and culture magazine we are producing at Uni. So take a look and tell me which ones are your favourites :)

London Fashion Week

Outfit of the day

I have been on Ebay recently and bagged some good bargains, the playsuit I'm wearing was a tenner brand new from Urban Outfitters! The bag I am carrying was £11 from Select, I've been searching for a good big bag but their all so expensive so I was chuffed with this buy. I have wanted to go to London fashion week since it started on Friday. There have been pictures and tweets everywhere about it and I was dying to go. Last night I impulsively decided that I was going to go to the last day as my friend was going into London anyway and then other friends from Uni ended up coming with us and we managed to captured our film project there. All of this was decided about 9 hours before we left for London. I cant wait to see all of the footage of the amazing styles we filmed today. I also took some street style pictures so will be putting those up soon as well :)

I never wear my hair in a bun, my face just looks massive!!

Recycling

Outfit of the day:
Jumper: Miss Selfridge
Shirt: Topshop
Necklace and Earrings: New look
Jeans: Topshop
Shoes: Office

Today I decided to recycle some old clothes I haven't worn in a while. I bought the pink shirt and black jeans last year from Topshop and completely forgot I had them until I looked through my cupboards last night. The only thing that is new in this outfit is the jewellery I'm wearing which was originally bought for a photoshoot I am doing, I just ended up keeping them. Oops!

London

On Thursday I went to London to visit the Tim Walker exhibition as well as the Valentino one. Both were amazing! Tim Walker is my all time favourite photographer so it was really great to see all of his work and how his ideas come about. The Valentino exhibition was classy and really interesting to see all of his dresses over all of the years. His dresses really were amazing. Even though it was freezing I had a lovely day, I forgot how long it had been since I'd been to London. The outfit I wore was borrowed from a flat mate, the leather shorts and the jumper. The coat was from H&M and the scarf was half price from Urban Outfitters.

This is my second purchase from Boohoo, Black leather patterned skirt. I wore it today with my red Topshop cardigan and a t shirt from River Island I completely forgot about. On the way home from Uni we found this spot to take pictures at. I like that its all organic, but it was freezing cold!! Sadly we have no snow where we are so the cold just doesn't seem worth it.

New Year, New Clothes

This year I am doing work placement as part of my University course, so I decided that it was the year that my style needed to change slightly. I went onto Boohoo to nab a few bargains and found these sequin shorts on there. I thought I could wear them to work with tights casually and could even wear them on a night out. Although, it didn't stop there, I bought 5 things online but the sum only came to £55, which I was pretty impressed with. I will carry on posting my new buys on here in the coming weeks :) The jumper is also a steal from my house mate, she got it from H&M

Recent events

Through the Christmas period I will admit I haven't been very good with keeping up to date with my blog. So here is a post of a few things I have got up to. It was really nice being at home for a while catching up with friends and family and of course Christmas :) my body is definitely suffering now though, dieting central in my fridge at the moment!!

I wore this outfit in Brighton when I went out with my house mate. I borrowed her skirt which is from Topshop as well as a black high neck top.

Going into Urban Outfitters is always dangerous for me, as I want the complete shop. I found this playsuit and loved it but controlled my shopping addiction and left the store without anything.. Oh apart from a lovely red scarf that was only £6.50!!

Being at home was really nice over Christmas, yes this picture may be a little sad but I love my bunny and he was my virtual Christmas card to all my family and friends. He's so cute.

I absolutely LOVE Tgi Fridays. I hadn't been there in a long time so decided to treat myself on boxing day with my boyfriend. The amount of food we ordered is slightly shameful as it filled the whole table.. and we ate it all!

I was back in Brighton for New Years Eve with my home friends. We celebrated in Digital so glammed ourselves up for the special occasion. 2012 has probably been one of my favourite years yet, so it was really nice ending the year with these beauties.

Back in Brighton and back to Uni. On tuesday we went out as we hadn't seen each other properly in a while. The top I wore is from Miss Selfridge and I borrowed velvet shorts from my housemate Heli.

Out of the night

Last night I wore a Topshop combo again, a dark red lace crop top, borrowed from my house mate and my leather panelled leggings that I bought a while ago. This was our last night out before we all went home for Christmas. I'm home now and I have definitely missed some home comforts, especially waking up to a warm house and not having to cook, bliss.

21st

Dress: Borrowed
Shoes: Newlook
Belt: Borrowed

Last weekend was my house mates 21st birthday, so we went out to celebrate. I wore this t shirt dress which I raided from my friends wardrobe. I keep trying to find an oversized t shirt that I can wear as a dress but don't know where to look. If anyone knows where to find one then please let me know :) Instead I wore this dress which was close enough. It was a really good night out, we went to Digital in Brighton which has become my favourite club to go to. Just before going out I also decided to dye my hair red! Although I ended up leaving my hair in the hands of my boyfriend, who by the way has never dyed hair before. Shockingly it looks really good and I love having red hair back again.

Tartan

I haven't blogged for a while but I have a few outfits to post on here. This is an outfit I wore to Uni the other day. I've got to the point where I'm sick of all of my clothes, but instead of buying new ones I'm just borrowing my lovely house mates clothes instead. I've wanted a tartan shirt for a while, I found one in Urban outfitters but I cant bring myself to buy it as its just too much. My friend Helena (she has an amazing blog by the way, bellsfashion.blogspot.com) lent me this shirt to wear and my other house mate Chanel let me borrow her leather pleated skirt.

Coat: H&M
Jeans: Newlook
Shoes: Birthday Present
Bracelet: Pandora

With my birthday money I decided to buy a new coat for the winter season. I'd seen this coat from H&M in burgundy but when it came to trying it on the black one suited me better. I love the fur collar and its so incredibly warm. A nice cosy buy for the cold. My flat mates also bought me these shoes for my birthday, bless them. I want to try and become one of those people that constantly wear heels, they make my short legs look slightly longer. The disadvantages of having short legs!
